Mussoorie First Floor Bedroom with Net

This room feels like it is floating in the air with gentle nets blowing in the breeze. It is light and cool as if the winter is about to arrive.

The bed is covered with net draperies reflecting what is painted on the walls. Birds are getting the room ready and draping the room with more netting to make it cosy, like a nest.

The nets represent “capture/emotion” and “wind/imagination”. Be caught in the fragile nets of emotion and imagination and make your nest with these as only you can.

The bed is about 120 years old and the springs have never been changed, so a slight creek and sway will remind the sleepers of the movement of air, leaves and nature.

There is a large bare tree painted in one of the corners of the room.  It has no leaves but there are birds( swallows) screeching at each other in the tree bringing a slight disquiet. The room feels restless like the unpredictable air around the house which changes by the minute.  In just a moment a cloud creeps up the mountain, surrounds the house and is gone leaving behind an airy pink sunset which in turn brings a star filled darkness.

Dreams float in the room like clouds!

She’s a Leopard Too: Tapestry

My mother, who is a tapestry weaver, really liked this painting. She made a beautiful tapestry based on it that is just the same size as the original. It is included here.
